Your Laguiole knife is a masterpiece crafted entirely by the skilled artisans at the Laguiole en Aubrac workshop. The blade, intricately guilloché spring, robust brushed stainless steel bolsters, and nails are all forged with precision at the Laguiole en Aubrac forge.
The handle is crafted from vine stock wood sourced from ancient vineyards in the south of France, where the vines have naturally aged and their productivity has waned. These venerable vines, once essential for producing exceptional wines, are eventually uprooted to rejuvenate the land for new, high-yielding vines.
While vine stock wood is often repurposed into heating pellets, it also finds a second life in fine cutlery and decorative pieces. Its color palette ranges from light to deep brown, influenced by age, exposure, and grape variety, with striking contrasts from its grain, knots, and darker sections. This wood is not only durable and noble but also offers a unique tactile experience, making it a perfect choice for wine aficionados and collectors of knives with historical wood.
The handle’s left side is adorned with the iconic shepherd’s cross, adding a touch of tradition and elegance.
Please note that due to the natural origin of our materials, each knife’s appearance may vary, ensuring that every piece is truly one-of-a-kind. Our product images are for reference only and may not exactly match the final product.
